UAW is a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit (APHA v. NIH) that involves grant applications administratively withdrawn, delayed, or otherwise left unreviewed as a result of NIH’s unlawful Directives. If you are affected by a grant application that meets these criteria, please fill out this form by Friday August 1 at 2pm Pacific Time: https://www.aclu.org/APHAvNIHform.
The court has asked for a final list of delayed or withdrawn applications that fit the following criteria:

The survey respondent is an APHA and/or UAW member; and

The application touches on a disfavored topic (DEI, gender identity, vaccine hesitancy, Covid-19, foreign subawards, influencing public opinion, South Africa, and/or China)
or
The application is for a diversity pipeline program (non-exhaustive list: MOSAIC, F31 Diversity, IRACDA, MARC, ARC, IMSD, ReWARD, B-INSPIRE, CPACHE, BRAIN Initiative, Cancer Moonshot Scholars Diversity Program).
The date by which this list must be submitted to the court is in flux but could be as early as August 4, 2025. If you meet the above criteria and would like to be included on the list submitted to the court, it is imperative that you submit a survey response no later than 5 pm Eastern Time, August 1st so the lawyers can review your information. It is possible that information submitted after that date will not be considered by the court for relief. Survey respondents are encouraged to provide details about how the delayed or withdrawn application may touch on a disfavored topic or pertain to a diversity pipeline program. Lawyers will follow-up directly if there are any outstanding questions.
